I need a specific bag that I can’t find anywhere. Can you help me with this?

     Absolutely! We can make any custom item to fit your needs. We can design something from start to finish.

If I place an order with your company what is the turnaround time? Do you require minimum quantities to be ordered?

     Out typical turnaround time for an order is 2 weeks. No job is too small for us, but we do give price breaks for ordering larger quantities.  

Where are your products manufactured?

     We are proud to say that all of our products are manufactured in the U.S.A.

I have a new idea and need help getting samples produced for marketing purposes. Can you help with this?

     Yes! We are a full service custom sewing company. We can create your unique idea into a pattern and sew up a prototype.

What types of fabric do you work with?

     We specialize in using Canvas and Nylon fabrics. But we have expertise in using a wide variety of fabrics. As part of the design and manufacturing process, we’ll decide together on the most appropriate and effective fabric for your specific needs.

Do you make clothing? Or do alterations?

      We do not make any clothing or do alterations.

Answers to some of the questions we get most often:

Do you have a minimum order?

No we will do small quantities. What I tell most people who ask this is – We will do one shirt if you want BUT you might not want to pay for it. The set-up fees have to be covered no matter how many shirts you order. The set-up for screen printing is $47 per color/screen and for embroidery our digitizing fee is $40 for a small front left chest logo. This makes smaller orders not very cost effective.

How much are set-up fees?

As noted above, we charge $47 per screen/color for screen printing and $40 to digitize a typical embroidered logo (approx. size 3.5” wide front left chest logo, or up to 20K stitches). Most of these fees you will only pay once if you keep the artwork the same. Additional print runs (at a later date where we have to reburn a screen/screens) will incur a much lower set-up cost because we already have the film on file, if you are using the same artwork. If we are doing artwork, design time is $45/hr.

What is your turnaround time?

Our turn time depends on a few factors – size of the order, shipping time (to get the garments here) and starts when artwork is approved. A simple single color design (for screen print) or a small front left chest logo (for embroidery) on a small number of garments typically takes 7 – 15 business days + shipping time (if necessary).  Please understand – Turnaround time is only an estimate. It is not a guarantee and starts when we have all information to complete the job and artwork approval. If you have a specific deadline for your order, please let us know up front. Many times we can push things through if necessary for a rush fee. Any circumstances out of Material Creations control (ie. weather delays, back orders, shipping errors etc.) may also require more time and are not factored into the initial turnaround estimate we give you.

What if I don’t have the proper artwork file?

If you are not sure about your artwork that is okay, we are happy to help! We have 20+ years of design experience to guide you through the art process. Art Guidelines

The best garments start with the best artwork! We want to make you look good, so we require high resolution artwork to start with.

Print/Embroidery Ready Artwork

Print/Embroidery ready art should be one of these file formats.

Vector Files – .ai .pdf .eps

Raster Files – .psd .png .jpg

Raster files must be 300 dpi at the size you want them on the garment.

Non Print Ready Artwork

If your artwork/logo is not print/embroidery ready we will work with you to recreate it. Our hourly rate for design time is $45/hr. We can estimate how much time will be needed to get your logo ready once we see it. Please send it to us at screen@materialcreations4u.com.

Raster vs Vector

Raster files are made up of pixels which can’t be increased in size without losing the quality of the image. Vector files are made up of lines which make them infinitely scalable, without losing quality. Raster files must be at least 300 dpi at the size you want them to print/embroider on the garments for us to use them effectively.

Outline Fonts 

To work with files that include fonts we don’t have, you need to convert the fonts to paths/outlines. This can be done in many of the illustration programs out there. To create outlines simply right click on the text and choose “create outlines” from the drop down menu. Other programs may call this function “convert to paths” or some other name. Doing a web search about converting fonts to outlines or curves in your program can supply the proper steps to accomplish this task if necessary. If your program doesn’t allow this we can potentially find other ways to solve this problem.
